About Kayla
When your boyfriend takes you and his family to Disney—imagine a group of fifteen adults and one child—it might be a sign that something amazing was going to happen. For Kayla Hiatt, something amazing did happen: she fell in love with Walt Disney World! (Oh, were you expecting a proposal? Well, you'd be right. Yes, although she did fall in love with Disney World on this trip, her boyfriend also proposed!) Standing in front of Cinderella Castle, the entire group lined up to get a family photo. But when the PhotoPass photographer started taking photos of the two of them together, Kayla noticed he (being much taller than she is) was no longer standing over her. Instead, there he was: down on one knee on Main Street, surrounded by the cheers of his family. And the best part, aside from having the most magical proposal ever, was that his grandmother was able to be there and have her last trip to Disney with them before she passed. Having said that, there was a funny element to her being there: despite planning for her to witness the proposal, his grandmother was somehow facing the wrong way on her jazzy scooter when it happened, and can be seen in the background of their proposal photos—whoops! Now it’s a memory that Kayla and her husband can look back at, laugh, and enjoy having that moment to remember forever. For Kayla, family vacations at Disney are where you can make those kinds of unforgettable memories, get a chance to see Disney magic through your children’s eyes, and celebrate being together!
